Disney Cruise Line is renowned for providing magical cruising experiences that the whole family can enjoy. With a fleet of four vessels, and with plans to expand the fleet with two brand new ships in the coming years, each ship offers a range of play areas, restaurants, venues and even staterooms that are themed around characters from the Disney franchise.
For most of the year, Disney Cruise Line’s fleet operates cruises around the American continent, with itineraries mostly focussing on Alaska, Florida, and the Caribbean. However, throughout May and June of 2016, cruisers across the UK will be able to embrace the impressive Disney Magic at a number of British ports.
Having already visited destinations such as Liverpool, Dublin, and Tyneside, the 2,700-passenger Disney Magic is also to make a maiden call at the Scottish port of Invergordon on 8th June 2016. It is not the first time the 965 foot vessel has visited Scottish shores, having provided the residents of Kirkwall, of the Orkney Islands, with a sail-by in July 2015. This visit, however, marks the first time that the Disney Cruise Line ship has visited mainland Scotland.
Those guests lucky enough to be visiting the Scottish port with Disney Dream will be spoilt for choice for excursions and places of local interest. Tour guides will take passengers to Invergordon, Alness, the Black Isle, Dockgarroch Lochs (for Loch Ness), Urquhart Castle, Inverness, Culloden Battlefield, Clava Cairns and Cawdor Castle.
After a busy day of exploring all the delights that mainland Scotland has to offer, guests will be able to enjoy all the amenities on board one of the most iconic vessels at sea. Families will have the time of their lives on board, with children able to join one of the many clubs which are split into age groups, whilst adults enjoy a fantastic meal or quiet time in one of the lounges. There are also dazzling performances which take place each evening in the Walt Disney Theatre. No matter what your age, though, a surprise meet-and-greet with your favourite Disney character is an experience you will never forget.
Those that are unable to catch a glimpse of Disney Dream upon her arrival into Invergordon need not despair, however, as the impressive vessel will be returning to the Scottish port on the 23rd of July during an itinerary that includes many scenic highlights in Norway, Iceland, and the UK.
