Trying to convince people of the benefits of choosing a cruise over a resort-based holiday can prove quite a challenge. Plus points of cruising include the ability to travel to a number of destinations over a short period of time, only having to unpack your luggage once, and knowing that you are guaranteed a table at dinner after a day on shore.
A handful of lines have begun to offer passengers an all-inclusive package which covers the cost of all meals, a selection of drinks, gratuities and many other additional charges which would normally be incurred on board. From Thursday, Norwegian Cruise Line will also be rolling out all-inclusiveness, with this unique offer being available across all of the line’s 14 ships. Known as ‘Premium All Inclusive’, it is hoped that passengers in the UK will be able to benefit from this superb new offer.
Additional extras such as premium alcoholic and non-alcoholic drinks, water and soft drinks for children, gratuities and service charges will all be included in the price of the fare. These benefits will be reflected in the cost of the cruise and will be available to passengers staying in all stateroom grades. For example, a seven-night western Mediterranean cruise previously costing £609 will now be priced at £739 – but the line has stated that this will work out much cheaper than buying everything on board separately.
Guests staying in Haven or suite accommodations will also be able to enjoy an additional dining package, 250 minutes of free internet, and $100 onboard credit.
The line has stated that it has made the move in a bid to stay competitive with all-inclusive land-based holidays. NCL’s Senior Director and General Manager for Northern Europe, Nick Wilkinson, said: “We are confident that Premium All Inclusive, and the relaxation and peace of mind it offers, has the power to inspire your customers to book with you.”
NCL’s Managing Director for Europe, Middle East and Africa, Christian Boell, said: “NCL's managing director Europe, Middle East and Africa, Christian Boell, said: "A considerable number of what were once considered 'extras' are now taken care of, including a large choice of premium drinks as well as service charges and gratuities. Having already successfully launched in several European markets, I'm confident that our UK guests are going to love Premium All Inclusive too."
There are many benefits of embarking on a cruise over choosing a land-based holiday, with more and more UK holiday-makers enjoying the value of a holiday on the seas.
