In the last few weeks, Royal Caribbean has confirmed the name of its fourth Oasis-class vessel to be Symphony of the Seas. This mesmerising new vessel will join sisters Oasis of the Seas, Allure of the Seas and Harmony of the Seas in offering guests on board some of the finest amenities anywhere at sea. With 28 more staterooms than Harmony of the Seas, she is also set to overtake her sister and become the largest cruise ship on earth, with a gross tonnage of 230,000 and capacity for 5,494 guests.
Upon launch, in 2018, she will offer sailings around the Mediterranean out of Barcelona throughout the summer before repositioning in the Miami for the remainder of the year. She will offer many of the popular amenities found on board Harmony of the Seas including the Bionic Bar, Rising Tide Bar, Ultimate Abyss slide, Perfect Storm water slides, and Jamie’s Italian. These amenities will be situated across seven familiar neighbourhoods including the Royal Promenade, Entertainment Place, The Boardwalk, Pool and Sports Zone, Youth Zone, Central Park, and Spa and Fitness.
However, it has also been confirmed that at least one revolutionary and exciting new feature will be added to the vessel which, according to quotes from Royal Executives in Orlando Weekly, will provides passengers with “a new scale of daring”. No firm details have been announced but these are expected to be released in the coming months.
Cruises on board Symphony of the Seas are available to book now and she will be one of the many vessels deployed in Europe throughout 2018. UK-based guests will also be able to enjoy the features of Independence of the Seas and Navigator of the Seas as they sail on itineraries out of Southampton. Both of these vessels have proven very popular with UK-based cruisers in recent years and the announcement of their return is sure to be warmly received.
Elsewhere in Europe, an additional five vessels will join Symphony of the Seas. Vision of the Seas will both be based in Barcelona, Rhapsody of the Seas will be based in Venice, Jewel of the Seas will be based in Rome, Serenade of the Seas will be based in Copenhagen, and Brilliance of the Seas will operate cruises out of Amsterdam.
